Born and raised in The Bronx, Hawa has been interested in the art of storytelling since childhood. Entranced with the world of music and theatre, she started her training at Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts as a vocal performance major. She then had the honor of being a Young Arts finalist in theatre in 2019. She went on to study Musical Theatre at Emerson College, where she graduated in spring of 2023. Most recently, they made their professional debut playing Wendy in the Peter Pan National Tour (making history being the first Black actor to play this role), followed by joining the ensemble in the original Seoul production of The Great Gatsby. Currently you can find them playing Eurydice in the Broadway National Tour of Hadestown!
